C'rch'th known to mortal-kind as Carchoth, is an ancient being, oneof the last of the true demons.  Although often referred to as 'he',Carchoth is in fact more likely an 'it'.  The demons did not breedas such, they merely 'were'.  Being immortal and almost indestructablethere was no need for a reproductive system, nor indeed for a digestivetract.  Carchoth lived within the confines of the Realmsof the Dragon since late 1993 and only disappeared from there during early 2003.  For a short period he appearedthere as a mortal but the God Lancer recognised his true nature and hewas revealed as the malign force behind much that became known as Stygia.
He had always been a member of that strange, yet subtly influentialband known as the Hawkes and though their numbers have waned, yet still is their memory kept alive by a few true hearts.
Many of the Immortals that rule the Realms have joined forces withthe ancient one and some of the things that they thus created are amongthe wonders of the realms.  The Tower of Quai, the City of Hylar, Doomed Ebwy, Rhone of the Halflings, the jungle of the Eandroth, the deserts of Lakeris and the tented city of Qu'ar'aband are some of these. The demon has also brought his evil touch to bear on other parts of realms society.  The guild of the druids has drawn his attention and paid that strange price. But, perhaps his greatest achievementhas been the introduction of the yak.  He is the master and they are all that he has.  He asks for no temples,no form of worship, merely the yaks.
Strange ?  Of course....he is after all Carchoth and even though he no longer walks the Realms, yet will his legacy endure.
